51st Jazz à Juan Festival 2011 – 14-24 July

With the summer sun fading at home, find it in the sun-soaked squares of the French Riviera and enjoy the open air music festivals which are planned in the coming months, such as Jazz à Juan.

Juan-les-Pins is the stage for Europe’s oldest jazz festival. Celebrating its 51st anniversary this year, the festival has already hosted famous jazz musicians like Ray Charles, John Coltrane, and Ell Fitzgerald.

Jazz à Juan is a unique, public festival with an array of entertainment on offer including concerts, exhibitions in the streets, clubs and terraces

This year’s programme is now available on the festival website. http://www.jazzajuan.co.uk/

Some of the most famous names in jazz like Carlos Santana and Keith Jarrett Trio will be present as well as up and coming jazz artists, such as Ben l’Oncle Soul – who hope to launch their careers here.

As some people and artists have said the Jazz at Juan is “a true festival, not a series of concerts, a real community which meets up each year in a particular place, at a particular time”.

This year marks the return of the 8th Jazz à Juan Revelations. The international competition which takes place during the opening night allows you to discover new artists. The event was created in 2003 to encourage and welcome fresh new talent into the world of jazz. The winner of the competition will be invited to perform next year at the Gould pine grove.

Jazz à Juan is provides the perfect opportunity to travel down to the South of France and explore not only the resort of Juan-les-Pins but also the many others beautiful villages and towns the area has to offer.
